Actually, Tina, I think that Justin's post has led us way off the topic and I fell into the trap. The original debate is not whether or not homosexuality is a sin. It was on rather or not it was a choice or controlled by biology.
As far as what I wrote, and posted on the other thread, it was not to try to change Justin's mind. I know that's not going to happen, at least not any time soon. However, when one makes statements such as Paul appeared to support slavery in Philemon or that there are significant variations in translations, I think that actually looking at what was written there in context, not just selecting a single verse, to see if the conclusion has any basis in fact is warranted.
Justin says that he sees that there are significant differences because the words are different. While certainly, if one reads a translation from the 16th century and a more modern one, there might appear to be some significant differences because the meaning of the English words may have changed. Even with that, on that particular passage, I don't see a lot of significant differences. However, in as much as I provided several different translations of the same passage, people can look and judge for themselves.
As far as to whether or not, practicing homosexuality is a choice or not, I don't think that any consensus can ever be reached. There is a certain school of psychology that says that there is no such thing as free will, that everything that we do is controlled by either our heredity or our circumstances. While I don't think that it's possible to disprove this statement, I don't believe that it's possible to prove it either, and if a person happens to believe it, there's no way that anybody else is going to convince them otherwise.
