To me, it seems like Nikon is just taking pot shots because of some misplaced idea that just because he likes it, it means everyone should be like him...I don't think so...
I am a Christian with conviction. I will not cower or hide just because some ignorant person throws generalities in my face. For example...I'm not overly fond of doctors and lawyers, regardless of sexual preference...Met and dealt with both good and bad...Not prejudice, all opinions formed from personal experience. Because of my convictions, I will "offend" people. It is okay. I do not doubt my convictions, and therefore, I cannot be swayed by loose cannons and ignorance. I don't jump on band wagons to fit it, and I don't feel the need to take pot shots at people because of financial, political, racial, or social status. I have no problem with identifying ignorance and/or flat out inconsistancies.
As far as prejudice...
I grew up in a community with a high percentage of homosexual couples and singles. Being the curious individual that I am, I asked a lot of questions and observed a lot of behaviors. Just like heterosexuals, some are discreet, some are not... Some I liked, some I did not. Although I do not believe their sexual preference is healthy or Biblically correct (gotta base your moral standards on something), it does not mean the person, him/herself, is "bad." BUT, this also does not mean I have to embrace their behavior either. I also do not want these liberal ideas influencing my children. I teach my children right and wrong and to have conviction, not to bash anyone because of their differences or embrace these differences either. I have seen children who grow up with no moral standards...They are now dead, in prison, or wished they were dead or in prison.
I can logically and calmly debate the morality and health issues regarding homosexualty but I do not believe that is the intent with above-referenced post. Said post comes off as a child wanting attention or retribution/revenge for some slight (imagined or otherwise) done unto them....or even just wanting attention period.
I could return pot shots with you, Nikon, but I choose instead to state my opinion and be done.
