DCS is very open.....and i know there are those members that view it as a bad thing....but speaking from my own experience, i read these boards for quite a while before i ever joined them....the fact that someone can come here and read them, without being a member, is not a completely bad thing! some people are not comfortable becoming members right off the bat....for myself this was my first experience with an MSN (or any other) community.....if i had been forced to join immediately before getting a feel for the place....well.....you and i wouldn't be having this conversation right now.....
DCS is easily accessible.....and open for all.....i would hate to see that change....i truly believe it is part of it's charm..
anyway, i appreciate you taking the time to lay this all out justin.....and everyone else's responses as well image

Can't believe I'm saying this, as its jeopardizes my good-standing with the RNC....but I agree with Nik. image

one other thing i neglected to mention...
DCS is not stagnant....it's membership changes continuously due to the very circumstance that leads us to seek it in the first place....the idea of closing off certain parts of the board and making them "private" has me raising my eyebrows a bit....what criteria would you place on members to allow them access to the private board? would you be researching IP addresses? how would you know who was safe and who was not? DCS would have to continue to accept new membership, to stop doing so would most definitely nail the coffin lid shut....so what would prevent stbx's or ex's from joining the new site?
