It seems that a while ago, the Arkansas state troopers held a contest for the officer who could name the person, who had the
most interesting excuse when they were ticketed.
The winner was a trooper, who begin chasing a semi trailer that was going 93 mph. When the officer observed this, he signaled
for the truck to pull over, but to no avail. Then, he tried turning on his red lights. The truck continued. Then he pulled almost to the truck's rear
bumper and the truck continued on his way. Then, turned on his siren and still the truck kept going 93 mph until after many miles the truck ran out of
gas.
When the officer approached the driver, the conversation went as follows:
Officer: Did you notice me flagging you to pull over?
Driver: Yes, sir.
Officer: Did you notice my red light and that I pulled right up to you bumper?
Driver: Yes, sir.
Officer: Did you hear my siren?
Driver: Yes, sir.
Officer: Then why didn't you stop?
Driver: Truthfully, sir, my wife left me a few years ago. She lives in Arkansas. I was afraid that you might be trying to
bring her back to me.
